Chesnee High School Army Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps
Post 48's relationship with CHS JROTC began in November, 2010 when they were
invited to a Post 48 meeting. Hamburgers and hot dogs were served. This began a
tradition that has been followed in most years since.

In 2013, School District 2 owned a property on North Alabama Avenue that was the
former Chesnee Elementary School. The Army JROTC were permitted to set up and
use an air rifle range and have air rifle shoots. This provided an experience
for these students about gun handling, care, maintenance, and shooting (safely).
You can get a view of that range
HERE.
When School District 2 sold that property, Chesnee High School did not have
space available at that time to move the range to the campus. Post 48
volunteered to permit the students to use the Post building as a range on a
temporary basis. You can get a view of that range
HERE.
When Chesnee High School made room for them, the range moved to the high school.
