Chigger Turkey Shoot
On 3/30/2016, Post 48 began
sponsoring a new turkey shoot known as the Chigger Turkey Shoot. There are
8 shooting positions on the renovated range 45 feet from the firing line
The Chigger Posts are the "front" posts seen
above. There are 8 of them 45 feet from the firing line.
The brown post on the right of the picture is the left end of the firing line.
Again, the Chigger posts are in the front.
This is the entire range as it is now, including "tired" Ernie sitting at the
picnic table (new addition to the range).
Chigger Shoot Rules
The chigger shoot is for 12 gauge shotgun ONLY; the cost is $5 dollars per
round; we will be using a 12 gauge shell with NUMBER #9 shot. The winner
is the person whose shot knocks out the RED dot in the center of the target.
1. Everyone shoots a 12 gauge #9 shot. If no one knocks out
the RED dot, everyone shoots again.
2. If there is a tie, those shooters will shoot again.
3. If there is still a tie after the second shot, there will
be a third shot to determine the winner. If no one knocks out the RED dot on
the third shoot, the
winner will be the shooter closest to the
RED dot.
4. Tabs on targets will be rolled back to check for RED DOT,
if Red Dot is there, IT IS NOT A WINNER.
5. The winner gets 50% of the pot.
