Oratorical Contest
and welcomes the judges and audience to this competition

Post 48 Youth Committee Chairman Clark Smith, then the official timer.
For the duration of the actual contest, the
participants are kept in separate
rooms. They are brought to the floor (no podium is permitted) one at a time
to "deliver their prepared oration in no fewer than 8 minutes and no more
than 10 minutes". "The oration must be on some aspect of the Constitution,
with emphasis on a citizen’s duties and obligations to our government"
of their choice. There is an official timer checking compliance.
After the last competitor has finished, a random drawing of one item from
the Amendments to the Constitution. Each competitor must give a 3 - 5
minute as hoc talk on that item.

After the assigned topic is completed and the judges have completed their
scoring, the competitors are brought out

Brixten McKenzie is presented with Second Place & $100
Winsabell Cheung is presented with First Place & $250
