February 6, 2018  Party Girls 1

The fun began by selecting 3 victims

Believe it or not, they got 3

The contest: remove tissues from the box 1 at a time the fastest

MC Janice McDowell congratulates the winner: Timothy Hall

Cleaning up the "mess"

The next event involved 4 couples: the first pair come forward

Two of the teams

The other 2 teams

One member of each team was required to answer a question the way the
other member of the team would answer by writing it on a card

MC Janice got her questions from the audience (just so you know they would be demonical)

Ernie, as always, wants to know "more"; Jack is somewhere in space & time

Finishing up the four (4) questions before the other half of the team returns

They're back! Now the challenge begins

She gives her response to the same questions; he shows what he wrote down

Sometimes it goes well --

sometimes it doesn't

Got it right!

Another correct (guess?)

We can tell; this one wasn't so good

Now for the flip side; ask different questions of the other half of the couple

I don't think he got this one

Obviously he got it

Jack got this one right

Obviously Ernie missed this one

And the Winner is: the newly weds Barry & Donna

The next contest involved swapping cups from top to bottom the fastest

Carrie is the winner -- see the blue cup on top

This event was so popular, they did it again

Bill won this one - again (its hard to see) the blue cup is on top

After a visit to the prize table, Bill claims his winnings

This contest was a bit more difficult - open 3 mini-bags of M&Ms, pick
them up with a straw, & put them into a cup

Yep! - that's what they are doing

Hannah wins this round

New contestants, same game; Ernie's cheating

Paula wins; Ernie is eating the game pieces

Event: guess the number of candy hearts in the jar; closest to correct number
wins; Tim was the winner of this contest

He won the jar for his effort

Overall, this was a "Fun Night" for all

This begins a new series titled "Women in the Military" which will tell about women who have served in any branch of the military.

Rear Admiral Dr. Grace Murray Hopper

Grace Brewster Murray Hopper (née Murray; December 9, 1906 – January 1, 1992) was an American computer scientist and United States Navy rear admiral. One of the first programmers of the Harvard Mark I computer, she was a pioneer of computer programming who invented one of the first compiler related tools. She popularized the idea of machine-independent programming languages, which led to the development of COBOL, an early high-level programming language still in use today.

Owing to her accomplishments and her naval rank, she was sometimes referred to as "Amazing Grace". The U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Hopper was named for her, as was the Cray XE6 "Hopper" supercomputer at NERSC. During her lifetime, Hopper was awarded 40 honorary degrees from universities across the world. A college at Yale University is named in her honor. In 1991, she received the National Medal of Technology.
